Our Current Artists – Ellen Sapienza & John Schmidtberger

Our local art gallery features a rotating collection of works by area artists. The hills surrounding the inn & the Delaware River Valley are home to talent that is just amazing. Our exhibits change with the seasons & we feature artists from multiple genres.

Local Color-Landscape, Water, and Still Life Paintings
This exhibition features neighborhood artists Ellen Sapienza & John Schmidtberger, each showing scenes of landscapes and waterscapes. Both Ellen & John have been close neighbors and friends of the inn for over 20 years and this is their second exhibit at the River’s Edge Gallery. We are honored to have their work in our gallery!
Ellen Sapienza – Artist Statement- “Most importantly, my work is empirical in origin. It all begins with my response to something seen, whether a patch of landscape or a painting in a museum. I am an experimental rather than a conceptual painter, focusing on the physical world, on things, on sensations. Somehow, in the process of making or viewing art, there seems to be an echoing, a clarifying, and a deepening of what it is to be alive, to be a person living life.”
