Bridgeton House founder, Charles Briggs, is a very talented artist. His vision of what this riverside building could be over 30 years ago is why we are all here today. Throughout our Bucks County hotel, his architectural design, woodworking, tile work, decorative painting, furniture & artistic style are very evident.
His latest venture is his ‘FireWood’ series. Sculptural in origin, yet usable in everyday life, these pieces speak to the eye as well as to the spirit. Brandishing a Japanese burning style known as shou-sugi-ban, Charles has created benches, side tables, coffee tables & stools. Selecting native hardwoods he turns offcuts, on his lathe, from his imagination into usable pieces of art.
