Winter in the Valley

Delaware River Winter Getaways

Join us for your winter getaways on the Delaware River. Life along the Delaware River & canal slows to such a lovely pace in the Winter months.
We find ourselves settling into a pattern of tea by the fire, a nice blanket & watching the light fade into dark. With such short days, we maximize the daylight with long walks along the canal, and if nature cooperates, cross country skiing.

Our last snow was perfect for hitting the towpath. With it’s flat surface, it makes for a course that is suitable for the beginner & the advanced. With 60 miles to explore, you will not tire of the diversions. Back at the inn, Chef Pat’s cookies & tea are a wonderful restorative to the workout. And after a long soak in the whirlpool, in front of the fire, it’s early to bed with the one we love……Join us in our boutique New Hope hotel.

The Bridgeton House -my kind of country inn; plank floors and white walls, windows on the river and warm apple cake in the kitchen. Here I could relax.
