Spring in the Valley

Charles & I recently spent a few days in the city of Philadelphia, we were at the flower show, had dinner with friends at a couple of hot new restaurants, and walked everywhere. There are so many pleasures that the city affords & it is great to be there in an easy drive of about an hour.

Today we came back to Upper Black Eddy & the difference between an hours drive is really striking. The city with it’s constant motion, people, architecture, noise & excitement gives way to the charms of Bucks County. Walking along the canal the serene beauty, stillness, and nature rise slowly up to embrace you. The clean air & quiet, the open fields & birds remind us that just as the city excites us, nature calms & restores us.

The temperature almost reached 70 this afternoon and the ground is pushing up & sending forth green shoots. The days are longer & the ducks & geese have started to pair off. Another Winter is departing & the promise of Spring is just on our lips.
